CONCEPT


 

The Poseidon is a fictional cruise line that focuses on luxury and exclusive relaxation with notes of Greek mythology and mystery. The hotel itself is located on a retired cruising yacht, The Poseidon.

 

The brand design and theme of this ship is reinvention of Greek mythology in a modern and elegant way. The Greek god Poseidon, god of the sea, was believed to be oldest Greek divinity of the waters. His trident or fish spear was like Zeus's lightning bolts in symbolism. Naturally, a cruise ship is known to be strong, dependable, and luxurious, all traits of the god Poseidon.

IDENTITY

The logo is an Octopus, expressing an emotion of power, representing the god Poseidon holding a trident. The brand color palette was also heavily inspired by Greek culture as gold was a sign of wealth in Greek trade and was thought to have magical powers as a gift from the gods.

DELIVERABLES

This complete brand design included a brochure, website, two menus, and ten product designs. The website and products continue the brands aesthetics and are functional to the brands needs. Two menu’s were designed for the restaurant on board and for the guest’s room service.  The menu designs feature other brand graphics and illustrations.

BROCHURE

The final brochure was designed with an unconventional brochure design approach featuring an envelope fold, with pockets providing cruise information. Each card contains information about the cruise for the viewer to easily access and keep handy throughout their travels. The brochure was printed and displayed as an interactive experience for the viewer.
